Scheduling 2021-22
High School
Beginning Tuesday, March 9th at 8:00 am the online request portal in PowerSchool will open for students currently in grades 9-11 to enter their course requests for the 2021 - 2022 school year. The portal will close on the morning of Thursday, March 18th. Below are important links to the Program of Studies, PowerSchool instructions, and the Scheduling Documents/Timelines. In addition, to assist students in making well-informed decisions, we have created a helpful Time Management Calculator. We encourage students to use this document when selecting courses to help outline the amount of time they are spending on all of their various commitments. We also have linked a short, informational video put together by our Subject Matter Leaders about the different courses offered here at HHS. We encourage you and your child to review all the links below before making your course selections.
Teachers here at the high school have submitted recommendations for their students into PowerSchool. Our teachers are invested in this process and work collaboratively with their first semester colleagues when discussing the appropriate placement for a student. Teachers recommend courses and levels that both challenge your child but that also offers them the best opportunity for success. We strongly encourage students to consider their teacher’s recommendations when signing up for courses. However, if your child has not been recommended to take a course they were hoping to enroll in, please have them complete the Override Consideration form located in the Scheduling Documents/Timelines link below. Override forms are due by Friday, March 19th.
Please note that course requests can be entered from both the parent and student portal, but the data entered in one will overwrite the other. We recommend parents and students collaborate and only enter requests under one account. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school counselor.
