The Planning BoardMy husband and I, along with our baby boy made Hopkinton home in 2010. My passion for education, strong conviction in quality public education, and support from community members, made me run for School Committee.
I believe every child is unique with potential that needs to be unfolded and the child inspired - they are our artists, engineers, trombone players, baseball players, youtubers, writers, fashion designers. We must respect every child, understand their needs and provide the infrastructure that brings out the best in them, setting a culture that respects and cares for all involved - teachers, administrators, parents, community.
My professional career involved cross organizational project delivery, data analysis and business process management in Financial Risk. I volunteer as a Greeter at the Hopkinton Senior Center, and as a Math tutor at Framingham Public Library. I also serve on the Asian American Commission of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

I am also a professor of humanities who teaches ethical philosophy and literature at Boston University. My students create art and research projects that respond to troubling or provocative current events. In my scholarship, I write about the intersection between art and ethics, for example, the way formal and stylistic choices writers make reflect ethical thinking. Each summer I work with the Menino Scholars, a group of fantastic Boston public high school students who are headed to BU on full scholarships.
