IKFA - Dual Enrollment
Hopkinton High School senior students may enroll full or part time in either online or face‐to‐face courses offered by an accredited two‐ or four‐year college or university. Part time students are those taking at least two or more courses per semester but less than a full time student is required to take.
Before enrolling, students must have prior approval of the Hopkinton High School principal and their parents, and must be admitted to the college or university. These students are considered dually enrolled in the college or university and Hopkinton High School.
Students who are taking one course per semester at a college or university are non‐ matriculated and these students are not considered dually enrolled.
Credits for courses taken at a college or university are not counted toward the student’s Grade Point Average (GPA).
Dually enrolled students are eligible to participate in athletics and are also eligible any awards or financial support ordinarily available to senior students. These students may graduate with their class provided that they have met minimum grade requirements. Their Grade Point Averages (GPA) will be reported as of the conclusion of junior year based on courses taken at Hopkinton High School.
