Making a Discrimination Complaint
Each school will act to investigate all complaints, formal or informal, verbal or written, of sexual or bias-related harassment or violations of civil rights and will take appropriate action against any pupil, teacher, administrator, or other school personnel who is found in violation.
Inquiries or complaints should be directed to the Building Principal. Issues or complaints that cannot be resolved at the building level can be brought to the attention of the District §504/ADA Coordinator, or to the Massachusetts Department of Education or to the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights.
The grievance procedures set forth in Hopkinton School Committee policy ACER can be used to resolve any discrimination complaints alleging non-compliance with any of the above statutes and related regulations.
You may also file a complaint directly with the MA Department of Education Bureau of Special Education Appeals or the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights.
