"Though my studio is located in my home near Worcester, I spend the majority of my time here teaching Ceramics at Hopkinton High School. Sharing with my students my love for ceramics has helped me grow as an artist. Often times they are my motivation and inspiration. My focus has always been on minimalist, modernist art. I am interested in my clay pieces as both an art object as well as having function. I am continually looking at mid century design, Japanese brushwork and Asian dinnerware as well as Danish and Australian ceramics. All of these influence my desire for a painterly surface on a simple functional piece of pottery."
