What does integrated mean?

The term integrated means that children with special needs and typically developing children are given educational experiences together in one classroom.  Children with special needs are able to communicate, socialize and learn from their peer models.  In turn, the peer models develop an understanding about individual differences and practice cooperation with a variety of peers.

Our teachers and assistants are trained to work with students with special needs and to modify the curriculum as necessary.  Some students may also receive therapies to help them access the curriculum.  The curriculum is taught to each child at his or her own level and they are encouraged to develop at their own pace.
