PROJECT STATUS:

The HESBC established criteria for the evaluation of the three site options for a new elementary school. The School Committee stated their preference for a solution that includes for a K-5 grade population at three elementary schools with Pre-K at one of the elementary school sites.

Design Partnership of Cambridge (DPC) provide a Matrix of several options that was considered by the HESBC after which, the options were reduced to three that will be refined and brought to a higher level of development by DPC.

Meetings have occurred with HPS elementary principals and specialists in order to develop the educational program for the new school. Discussions have also occurred with Town officials regarding the anticipated project approval process.

In the next month, the HESBC plans to complete review of the educational programming, building and site concept plans, preliminary cost estimates and phasing.
